I have a new hose for my Dyson dc41. I'm have trouble with it snapping in to the back side handle storage area. Ant ideas?

To snap the new hose into the back side handle storage area of your Dyson DC41, follow these steps:1. Switch 'OFF' and unplug the appliance before proceeding.2. Lie the appliance on its front.3. Detach the red 'C' clip between the cleaner head and the appliance with a constant, firm pressure.4. Pull the cleaner head away from the appliance with a constant, firm pressure.5. Turn the two dials on the cleaner head a quarter-turn anti-clockwise until they click.6. Lift up the top edge of the base plate on the cleaner head to rotate it to the upright position and lift it out.7. Refit the base plate by fitting the lugs into the slots and swinging the upper edge down until it clicks into place.8. Secure the base plate by turning the dials clockwise until they click and engage.9. Refit the red 'C' clip onto the cleaner head.10. Attach the cleaner head by sliding it onto the connections on the lower front part of the ball until it clicks into place.Ensure all parts are securely refitted before use.

My DC41 doesn’t seem to have the flexibility to swivel anymore - when I’m vacuuming it will only go straight and if I try to go around a piece of furniture the brush it doesn’t stay flat on the floor. I cant find any explanation for this issue.

The ball shell (still in good shape) on the opposite side from the filter has broken off. I super glued it once, but it fell off again. Can this be repaired? If so, what is the approximate cost? Does it require a professional repair shop? The vacuum is a Dyson DC41 Animal.
