At MWC event last month, the benches of Sony attracted everyone with the flagship devices like Xperia Z and ZL. The company did not unveil any mid-range smartphone and it was really surprise for many, as many people still can’t afford high-end devices and thus they go with mid-range devices only.
Does it mean that Sony is unaware from the market of mid-range smartphones? No, it does not! The company had plans for mid-range smartphones already but did not reveal them in the public at MWC. May be because the company did not want to divide the attention of people? Whatever is, the good news is coming out here is that unannounced Sony Xperia SP and L has popped up in UK.
Both of the Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L are mid-range devices. Several British retailers have listed these smartphones as ‘coming soon’.
From both of these smartphones, the Sony Xperia SP has got better specs. This smartphone will be sold for £312.98 by LambdaTek and for €389.79 by Micro Aid Ireland. The devices are claimed as mid-range, but the price tag tell us that they are actually not so.
Talking about the specs, the Sony Xperia SP is expected to be powered by 1.7 GHz dual-core S4 processor. 4.55-inch display with 720p resolution display is rumored in this smartphone. 8 MP Exmor RS camera, 1GB RAM and Adreno 320 graphics are some other rumored specs of Sony Xperia SP.
LamdaTek has said that the first stock will appear in next week, and then the shipping will start. The shopping giant Amazon has also listed the Sony Xperia SP, but nothing about the specs and price tag is reveled there.
Coming to the next smartphone, the Sony Xperia L, it will have 4.3-inch display, 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, 8GB storage capacity with microSD support, 8MP Camera, Adreno 305 graphics. It will be backed up by 1,700 mAh battery.
LambdaTek is to sell the Sony Xperia L for £219.18, while Micro Aid will sell it for €270.46.
Both these smartphones don’t have any impressive feature to catch one’s attraction. The price tag is also very high if we consider the today’s market, in which the smartphone with nearly same or better specs is available at lower cost.
So what do you think of these smartphones? Are you excited to have any of them in your hands?
