The ruggedized version of Galaxy S4- Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is finally officially announced with IP67 certification for Dust and water protection. The smartphone is based on Galaxy S4 specification with little notable changes.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has a 5 inch full HD display with TFT LED rather than AMOLED. It has a 1.9 GHz quad core processor with 2 GB of internal memory, 16 GB of storage in which 11.25 GB user accessible with microSD card slot for further improvement of memory. The S4 active has 8 MP rear facing camera in place of 13 MP. You can able to record full HD video and there are a special “Aqua Mode” in the camera app that will improve the visual quality and clarity of the underwater image and footage. The Phone is IP67 certification means that it is good up to 30 minutes at a depth of one meter under water and resists solid particles – dust. The phone also has a 2 MP front facing camera and a waterproof earphone jack. Samsung added a physical camera shooter button, so user can take underwater image easily.


About the connectivity option of Galaxy S4 Active, it supports LTE as well as HSPA+, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi Direct. The devices runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean out of box with Samsung TouchWiz on top, Air View, Air Gestures, the S Health fitness and watchON IR app. The Smartphone have measure 139.7 x 71.3 x 9.1mm and weights 151gram. The phone is powered by 2,600 mAh battery capacity.

The Galaxy S4 Active will go on sale in US and Sweden initially and available in three colors version grey, blue and orange. Right now we have no information about the pricing of this smartphone.
