South Korean company Samsung, which is now proudly tagged as the best Android smartphone maker, is rumored to be working on successor to its low-budget Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket, that was launched in April 2012. Being low-priced, the smartphone did good in Market, but the customers were annoyed by poor performance of it. Samsung is rumored to come up with fix to all the issues that it faced in Samsung Galaxy Pocket, in its yet-to-announced Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus

A popular blog SamMobile wrote about this unannounced smartphone, a few days back. Now more details about the same have been leaked. The unannounced Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus is successor of Samsung Galaxy Pocket, but from the leaked features point of view, this unannounced smartphone seems to be successor from ‘Name’ only as according to leaked information this is just a minor upgrade and that also in the processor only, which is rumored to be 850MHz. In the predecessor it was 832MHz. Samsung is also rumored to downgrade touch-wiz as it caused the performance issues in the Galaxy Pocket.

Another minor upgrade is in the operating system which was Android 2.3 in the predecessor, while is rumored to be Android 4.0.4 the Ice Cream Sandwich. Well, this is not what we can call as any point of attraction. Rest of the features are same in both of the smartphones.  Here’s the complete leaked specs of unannounced Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus.

  • Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4)
  • 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM
  • 2-megapixel camera
  • • Broadcom BCM21654 850Mhz Processor
  • 2.8″ QVGA TFT screen
  • 1,200mAh battery
  • Connectivity Options: A-GPS, USB v2.0 HS, Bluetooth v3.0, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n)
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Digital Compass
  • Preloaded social networking apps

So the specs are same, with a new name, a new device which is yet unannounced. If you own Samsung Galaxy Pocket, then you will only observe goodness in performance as minor upgrade in  clocking speed and downgrade of touch-wiz will result in fast speed. No more enhancement in experience. Samsung is rumored to launch this smartphone in anytime soon, and even this South Korean firm itself wants to launch in first quarter of ongoing year 2013. The low-budget smartphone is rumored to hit Latin American under codename GT-S5301L.

Nothing is announced from the maker as of now. We will be keeping an eye on it. Stay tuned!
